Jump Ship?

I'm beginning to appreciate LiveJournal more lately.... Their concept of a "Friends List" is quite appealing to me... I spend a lot of time jumping from blog to blog looking for updates... however, if we all switch over to LiveJournal, I can simply add you to my Friends List and view all of your posts on one page! What do people think? Opinions?

EDIT: Did I mention that you get an e-mail when someone comments? :) Yes it's free... just go to http://www.livejournal.com to register! Come on! Jump on board the S.S. LiveJournal!

Yokel 101

On my bus ride to work this morning, I saw something that made me further understand the term "slack-jawed". Near the end of my ride, I was looking out the window when the bus was making a stop. There was a guy waiting for the bus with his mouth hanging open (i.e. Slack-jawed). I found myself thinking that this guy looks REALLY dumb... and I don't just mean 'foolish' or something like that... He looked like the type of guy that would get his ass kicked by Forrest Gump on Jeopardy!

Now, I don't think that he would have looked so "challenged" if he had just closed his freakin' mouth. So the term "slack-jawed" really does imply a decreased mental capacity (YAY for unnecessarily technical words!)...

So the next time you're watching The Simpsons and Cleatus ("the slack-jawed yokel") is on, ask yourself, if he closed his mouth, would we really know that he's a yokel? I'm not convinced...

...And that's MY buck 'o five...

Bad: I had to run to catch both buses

Bad: They really crank up the heat in buses to near unbearable levels

Good: It's FRIDAY!!!!!

Good: I got to finish watching Garfield: The Movie last night

Bad: It was a terrible movie. How did they screw up Garfield????

Magic Water

Have you heard of Buzz Water? It's caffeinated spring water... It has 200 mg of caffeine per bottle! If you, like me, aren't familiar with the caffeine content of coffee, etc., then check this out.

Buzz Water is $36 per case of 24... I think I might get one....

Mr. RatFang's Wild Ride

Today has already had a few ups and downs..... When I woke up this morning, I couldn't drag myself out of bed.... felt so tired and lazy... So that trend continued and I had a very lazy morning.... Ate breakfast... watched tv (Daily Show)... slowly got ready and went to work....

By the time I got on the bus, I was in a pretty good mood... until I switched buses... On the second bus, I'm pretty sure that I was sitting across from the girl who hit my car... She had the same bitter expression and same ugly mole... But I'm not completely sure... she seemed slightly fatter and more "fobby" than I remembered, and the guy she was with looked different...

The girl who hit my car was Korean, and so I spent the bus ride trying to figure out if this girl was speaking Korean... I guess I can't really recognize the Korean language... I'm pretty sure that they weren't speaking Cantonese... but it may have been Mandarin... the way I usually distinguish between Cantonese and Mandarin is listening for a lot of "sh" sounds... I think that Mandarin uses the "sh" sound a lot more... I did hear quite a bit of that... but I'm not sure if Korean has the same...

Oh well, I guess it doesn't really matter anyway.... If it was her, at least I know that she's not driving either (I know, that's a mean thing to say... but I'm still bitter about losing my car)...

When I got to work, I found out that I have to figure out how to use some Emulator program just to get screenshots... that made me bitter.... But then it turned out that it wasn't very complicated to use, so that made me happy.... So I'm back in a good mood.... ("it comes with a free Frogurt!")...

The orignal name for this post was "Ready To Go" because I was listening to a song by that name (by Republica)... but... since Blogger seems to be going pretty slow today, that song is long over....

Weekend Update with RatFang

Ok... because of the whining, I'm going to give you a rare (brief, but rare) weekend update.... I'm at Wendy's place right now with Jen, Sarm, Bonnie, & one of Wendy's friends. We're just starting to drink... waiting for dinner... mmm... maple curry chicken....

Soon we'll bring out the drinking checkers! Then all hell will break loose (but the good kind of hell, hopefully). I think that tomorrow we're going to lounge around and watch Elf... love that flick! :)

I know that this still isn't much of a post... but it's a saturday, so consider yourselves blessed....

RatFang OUT!

Movies

Last night I rented two movies and bought two.... Blockbuster had a 2 for $20 used movie sale... so I picked up Ginger Snaps 2 & 3.... now my collection is complete! Well, neither movie was great, but each had its good points... and since I was such a big fan of the first one, I feel that I should own the series....

I rented Dawn of the Dead and Garfield:The Movie.... Quite a fitting pair don't you think? ANYWAY.... I rented two because I had a two for one 1-week-new-release coupon (I have a book of coupons with a bunch of free rentals but they're either New Relase or Favorites and these ones fit right in between the two.... convenient for them...)....

The girl (or should I say OLD woman) that was working there was new.... and since my order was probably as complicated as you can get: purchase + special deal, rentals + coupon, and I was paying with interac to boot, she had the manager watching over her shoulder... She seemed to be having a lot of difficulty using the scanner, computer, etc....

Watching this made me realise how hard it must be for older people (i.e. those that didn't grow up with computers, etc.) to work, shop, etc. with all the new technology... Things that seem simple to us, seem very complicated to people without the technological background... It's scary to think that we'll likely be that way someday... Ack! I don't want to be old....

..wow, when I started writing, I had no idea my post would go this far...

... oh yeah, I was going to say that Dawn of the Dead is a good movie... it was FAR better than House of the Dead (see a previous post) and it had some really cool special features... They had a couple of featurettes that showed the story from two different perspectives... I was very impressed by that because it's exactly the type of thing that I was wondering about after the movie was over.... I haven't watched Garfield yet, but I don't expect much from it...

Stupid Blogger!

Blogger was down this morning... so I posted in my LiveJournal.
