So Slack
So, it's 11am and I just got to work... the people upstairs kept the kids quiet (or at least kept them away from the room above mine) this morning and so I was really enjoying sleeping in... I feel pretty rested now...
In less than an hour I'm going out for lunch... I know, I know: "but you just got there!"... true... but I had forgotten that I had agreed to go out to an all-u-can-eat sushi restaurant for lunch today... I'm so hungry... mmm... sushi... it's really an acquired taste, I didn't used to like it...

Good times!
Being home in the middle of the day is great! It took me less then 25 minutes to get to wendy's then home.... I should do this more often.. I feel so relaxed sitting here watching tv... Aparently Michelina's now has some random cartoon bunny on it's commercial now... I wonder if they're trying out a mascot...
Homeward Bound?
I'm really considering going home for lunch today... I'm pretty sure it's going to be a really slack day and going for lunch would be a good way to waste time... Or maybe I'll just go out and pick something up... decisions, decisions... isn't life tough? hahaha
Children are Evil
After being woken up AGAIN by children running/playing/screaming loudly upstairs this morning, I'm even more convinced that I never want to have children! Argh... I couldn't go to bed rediculously early last night because they were loud, then they woke me up in the morning.... Apparently they're going to be in the house for another week... I'm going to go crazy if they keep waking me up!

Oh no! The road is slightly damp!!!!
Why does a little drizzle of rain cause huge highway backups? The 401 was packed even at around 10am this morning! WTF mate! I don't understand... there wasn't enough rain to make the roads slippery or to hinder visibility... so why? SOMEONE TELL ME!!!!

Lazy
That should be the title of every one of my blog entries... there's no time when I'm not lazy... but today, I seem to be tired and moody... oh well, at least I'm on an upswing right now...
I think that I'm going to figure out how to get a counter-type-thingy to find out who reads my blog and what sites they come from... Other people have mentioned these things and it seems like another good way to waste time...

I watched an episode of SmallVille for the first time last night... it was actually pretty good... and the main character from Ginger Snaps (Katherine Isabelle) was on it... strange that she would be in the only episode I've watched... Go Canadian actors! :)

I'm pretty content today... I'm back to doing minor changes to the program that I'm working on... so I can feel productive again! YAY! I get really bored when I make no progress on a problem after a few days... oh well... maybe I'm better suited to setting my goals low and achieving them! :)

The people that work here cluster like mad! I just came back from getting a coke in the lunch room... and there were ONLY brown people in there... It seems that people here only hang around with others of the same ethnic background... there's the eastern europeans, the chinese, and the browns (I can't be more specific because I'm not sure)... and then there's me...
Preparing to Flash the world
So, my new thing is Flash... I downloaded the program and started playing around with it... I think I'm going to make a flash-based website and post cartoons... So far I've just made part of a Word-Up (by Cameo) music video... it's actually fun to do... maybe I should have just gone to college...
Hello Monday
Forgot my security passes at home this morning... had to get some temporary ones made up... So, while I was waiting, I had to get someone to let me onto my floor, then get someone else to let me into the area that I work in... A little while later, I get an e-mail telling me that my passes are ready... but, in order to pick them up, I have to get to this person's desk, and I need a pass to get into that area! ARGH... I don't like mondays.... not to mention that I'm kinda sick today... Woe is me!

The Calm After the Storm
So, after my job-related freakout yesterday, I'm feeling pretty calm today... I think that I have a clearer idea of what I'm going to be looking for in my next job... I don't feel that I'm properly suited for a completely tech-based company (unless it's one of those "new-age" ones like Globex... I'd like to work for Hank Scorpio)... I'm going to have to focus more on the work environment in my next set of interviews... apparently that is important to maintaining what's left of my sanity!

Sunlight can brighten your day, who'd have thunk-it?
You know, I think that I actually like seeing sunlight every so often... which is weird for me because it really hurts my eyes.... but lately, sunny days have really cheered me up... That is until I get into work with the high cubicle wall and the flourescent lighting that makes time of day irrelevant... argh... I need to work in one of those "new age" computer offices like you see on tv... where you can actually see out windows, etc... music would be nice too... for some reason headphones just don't cut it...

My boss works from home... we keep in touch through MSN Messenger... so... for the past two nights, I've "accidentally" left myself logged in so that my boss couldn't tell when I left work (although I was here for 8 hours each day)... also, today I didn't get in until 11 ... but because my boss isn't here or logged in and HIS boss isn't here, I might just leave at 5ish... I'm so freakin' lazy... I just don't want to work anymore...

I had to swerve suddenly in the parking lot this morning when I got to work... A canadian goose was walking across the parking lot and decided to brake into a run when I came close... I had to swerve before the stupid thing ran into the side of my car! WTF mate! Giving animals "protected" status just makes them cocky!

Avril Visits Scarlem?
So apparently Avril Levigne (spelling?) had a concert yesterday about 5 minutes from my house... (unless there's another fairview mall in the GTA)... Not that I really care that I missed it... I just find it weird that 1) I didn't hear anything about it beforehand and 2)Anyone that is even remotely famous would play there... very strange... and midly interesting...
It looks like today is going to be another slow work day for me... I'm frikkin' tired again... oh well... whatever...
Anyway... busy weekend for me (which I hate)... I'm going home to help my parents clean the basement on saturday and I have to work on my school project on sunday... I would rather just sleep the whole weekend...

Death Defying Stunts
Wow! Since my Tim Horton's days are so far in the past, I had forgotten how dangerous a coffee/donut shop can be early in the morning! I think that I came close to losing my head this morning... So here's the run-down..
I was driving Jen to Kennedy station this morning and we stopped off at a Country Style... The drive-thru line was long so I dropped her off and parked the car. After parking, I went inside to wait in line with her. Since she got into the place about 30 seconds ahead of me, naturally, there were quite a few people behind her in line. Oh the glares I got while I walked past those people to stand in line with her! I feared for my life! I casually remarked to her (in a loud voice) that "there's no point in you waiting in line by yourself"... that seemed to passify the crowd enough so that they put there guns away (we ARE in Scalem, after all)... Close call...close call... I'm just glad that I'm not a coffee addict who has to go through that every day! :P

So my boss is back. Fun time is over... however, he doesn't seem to care that I haven't really accomplished anything while he was gone... to quote a famous jailbird, "it's a good thing"... (I know, Martha Stewart jokes are REALLY overdone)

Current Events
Ok, on the way to work this morning (yes, I'm actually at work), I heard a pseudo-funny story.... So this guy and his wife (who have had domestic violence problems before) were having an argument... a few MINUTES later, his wife asked to blindfold him because she had a surprise for him in the garage... needless to say, she hit him in the head twice with a heavy mallet! Apparently, the thought of possible sex completely took over his common sense (if he had any to begin with)... I shouldn't find this funny... but I do...
Anyhow, after she hit him, he ran out of the garage onto the street yelling for help... And what did she do? , you might ask... well... she did the only logical thing, she ran into the kitchen and stabbed herself in the stomach, of course! Then she called 911 and told them that her husband attacked her... Wow! Now there are two people who deserve each other!

Why am I so lazy?? It's now 8pm on Sunday and I should be doing work on my project... I need to have my part of it done in a week... but here I am doing nothing again.... I'm actually going to watch Underworld (which I bought on the weekend)...
Oh well... I had a great weekend doing nothing... saved a lot of money and feel really relaxed...good times! I'm going to have to do that more often... I should have been a bear... hibernation sounds great! On the other hand, I might end up as a rug... but everything has risks!

I don't remember the last time I was so tired... I can't do anything...can't think... obviously can't work... but I've been off for two days so I at least have to be here.... argh... I REALLY want to go home... I'm leaving early today... I was planning on leaving at 5... then it became 4:30, then 4... but even that is sounding like a long time from now... ugh...
so, I'm back at work... being at work after getting used to staying home both sucks AND blows! I don't want to be here... at least it's only for one day... then it's the beginning of "Sub-National Do-Nothing Weekend"! YAY!

I'm back in the office again... I came in just before 2pm this afternoon... probably going to stay just until 4... I'm so tired... I worked until 5:30am this morning...
I've decided that I'm going to hibernate this weekend. Just do whatever I feel like doing (as long as it doesn't involve spending money!)... it'll be nice... eat, sleep, watch movies.... ahhh, now that's the life! Sorry for anyone that I'm selling out this weekend... but I'm kind of taking a mental (and financial) health leave... Don't be hatin'!
